Vibe FM DJs' Pro Dive (Faith) & MJ where there to support and what a great day it turned out to be. With a slow start and problems with the sound the park soon filled up when the "PA" kicked in and the acts started to flow. From traditional dancers to hip hop and wrap it was one for all to enjoy. Well done to all that were involved and all the performers for their participation. A very big thank you to Sheila for organising this event...this is one very special lady!CLICK HERE TO VISIT OUR HIGH VOLTAGE GALLERY FOR ALL THE PICS |

Rob, Bunker Racing - 3rd for the day |
05/10/09 |
Rob Prece in his powered Golf had a miserable start to the weekends racing at Kyalami. After missing all but one practice sessions with oil leaks , an electrical fault and a broken clutch pressure plate. After a long day and night of fixing all the problems(thanks to the steady flow of s ) the car seemed to be race ready for Saturday. He arrived at qualifying a bit late, he had a sorted car but due to the high numbers of entries (over 50 cars) he had a lot of cars to pass to get a clear track. The troubled weekend did not end there with only 2 warm up laps done, qualifying was red flagged due to a massive oil spillage from a fellow competitor. Result start 32nd on the grid ( Rob not a happy camper !!!). First race went well with some brave overtaking maneuvers, he managed to climb up the grid to 15th overall and 5th in B Class in Silvercup and 4th in B Class in Modified Production Cars. The second race was another ding dong battle and after a few bumps and some very close calls he got up to 10th overall but gear linkage problems two competitors got past. He finished 11th overall and 4th in B Class in Silvercup and 3rd in B Class in Modified Production Cars . These results gave Rob 3rd for the day in class B in Modified Production Cars and 4th in B class in Silvercup. Both Championships run a Index championship as well and Rob managed to win on index in both heats in Modified Production Cars and the second heat in Silvercup due to some really consistent lap times. Rob left Kyalami with some silverware under his arms…a great way to end a troubled weekend. Just proves = faster lap times!!! |

ANDRE VAN DER MERWE - ended 4th over all |

| Started off as a very bad weekend without having practiced on Friday because of the engine packing up. Went straight into qualifying where the turbo packed up. I ended up starting the first heat 9th and finished 5th. The second heat was exiting with heavy rain. Started 5th and made my way up into 2nd behind Gary Formato in the Ford. Was looking good until the last lap where the rain caught me out and I spun of the track rejoining in 5th. Ended up with another 4th overall. |

| Sad to say I had some technical problems this race. The 1st heat a turbo pipe burst causing me to lose a lot of power leaving me in 7th. The second heat went a lot better , I was leading for about 4 laps then got passed , I was in comfortable 2nd the entire race until 2 laps from the end where I started running out of fuel causing me to slow down but still ended close 4th. |

Andre van der Merwe had a bit of a mixed day at the Zwartskop Race course in Pretoria on Saturday. After qualifying 3rd for the start of the 1st heat, the car had some brake problems and Andre managed to come in fifth in that heat. Starting in 5th for the 2nd heat Andre was once again chasing down the drivers in front of him when the car again suffered from brake failure and he had to nurse the car to the finish coming in 7th. Despite all the brake problems Andre still managed to get 4th overall for the day.CLICK HERE TO VISIT OUR HIGH VOLTAGE GALLERY FOR ALL THE PICS |

Grand Prix Track cycling first stage – JHB |
2008 |
The first stage of the track cycling grand prix took place on Saturday the 22nd of November 2008 at JHb Hector Norris Park, and what a day we had. Team was there in force offering the riders, TV crew and spectators free sample tasters of the electrifying energy drinks, and the competitors where wizzing around that track like every lap was there last. As is with any promotion or wet tasting the response we got was overwhelming with all that participated stating that was by far the best tasting energy drink they had ever the pleasure of sampling. Needless to say the sales went well and Team went away once again knowing that the product they represent is by far the best available on the SA market, imported and local. The weather played the game and the rain held off until after the racing was finished allowing the riders and spectators to enjoy the day to its’ full. Well done to all those competitors that raced, thank you to all those that came along to support, and a special thank you to those who got involved with the wet tasting including the Capital Team who really went out of their way to ensure that nobody missed out on sampling energy drink. Supersport broadcast times of this event will be made available here as soon as they are confirmed so be sure to come back and visit the site soon. |

Volt Energy Drink In association with “Spark Plug Sunday” |

DATE: 12 October 2008 VENUE: VMacs Sports Bar
Big Guns Promotions in conjunction with VMacs Sports Bar and Energy Drink enjoyed a successful first Spark Plug Sunday this past weekend. The weather was hot, the beverages were cold and everyone was looking for shade! Car dealers which included Mitsubishi, Honda, Mercedes, Suzuki, Citroen, Chery,Kia, Dihatsu, Proton and Ssangyong set up their cars and display stands. Visitors were entertained by DJ Colin of Sound Barrier and the band DV8 with good rock music. The children enjoyed the intriguing jumping castle whilst their parents sat back downed ice cold Energy Drinks and enjoyed the music. Many bikers converged on VMacs Sports Bar after their Sunday morning rides to enjoy the displays, the music and the food on offer – hamburgers, hot dogs, boerie rolls, schwarmas and pancakes. Those with enough energy headed down into the valley for a fun game of paintball. The charity of the day was SPCA whom we all know are in constant need of funds, food and support from the public by going to the SPCA to look for a new pet for the family. “Biggles”, an even tempered magnificent Great Dane who is the SPCA mascot, was there to receive his fair share of Oohs and Aahs together with his owner “both from Amanzimtoti SPCA. Specially embroidered “Spark Plug Sunday SPCA SOS Run 2008” badges were available at R30 each with the proceeds going to SPCA. VMacs Sports bar who will be hosting the next Spark Plug Sunday event set for the 23 November is situated behind the Exel Service Station in Goodwood Road, Mahogany Ridge in Pinetown. This second event promises to be even bigger and better than this first. Craig and Nick of Big Guns Promotions and John Mc of VMacs Sports Bar thank everyone who supported this event and the SPCA. |

National Motorcycle Trial riding |

Well.... this was an event to remember! The riders really had their work cut out for them with the weather taking a turn for the worse and the stages becoming dangerously difficult. As a brand owner and not being too handy on a bike myself it was a real eye opener for me and you will definitely find myself and other members of the team at other trial biking events in the near future. A great debt of gratitude goes out to all the observers who did a fantastic job keeping score and all on a voluntary basis...trial biking in my personal opinion is a great up and coming sport full of great people who are dedicated to a sport that is worthy of so much more coverage and recognition. Energy is proud to have been a part of this event and see ourselves becoming more and more involved in the coming years. A few words to sum up my first experience of trial biking.....passion, skill, enthusiasm and dedication! The Energy Drinks team salute all trial bikers and supporters out there and thank you for making a part of this absolutely amazing sport. If you know of a trial biking event taking place near you, do yourself a favour and take the entire family as it really is a great day out. For more on when the events are talking place and where, be sure to contact Colin on 084 721 8526. Check out our "High age Gallery" and www.sportspics.co.za for a peek at the recent event at the Killarney 4 x 4 track in Shongweni and look out for the DSTV Supersport programme of this event to be broadcast in October. |
