Gravity-Life FOX/GT Race Report

Gravity-Life FOX/ GT had a successful day yesterday at the Africa Continental Downhill Championships. Tough, wet conditions made it very tricky for the riders.

Top Gravity-Life Elite Men finisher was Travis Browning who finished in 5th place overall, just 5 second shy of 1st place.
"I made a few small mistakes which cost me time. I’m happy to have got down the hill in one piece and I’ll take a 5th place finish".
Top Gravity-Life Elite Ladies finisher was Kate Stephenson who finished in 2nd place overall.
"It was tough up on the hill. I fell off a few times and had to walk my bike down some sections. I was really hard to stay on the bike. Just glad I got down without any injuries and happy to finish 2nd".
Congrats goes out to Elite team members Kelvin Purchase (11th), Justin Burns (14th) and to Mike Reid who rode nursing an injury sustained at the Cape Town National.

Our next Downhill event is at Cascades on 06 April with the SA Cup National Championship at the same venue a week after, 14 April 2013.

Riot Lan 22/02/2013

The competition went really well, there was about 10 clans which competed and prizes were sponsored by Roccat. We did really well in the competition, went through to the semi-finals and ended up an overall 3rd place. Bravado gaming took 2nd and KK took 1st.

Team Gravity-Life

The start of the 2013 KZN Downhill season saw new riders to the Gravity-Life Team with the addition of Justin Burns and Mike Reid. Justin and Mike bolstered the already strong line-up of team riders, bringing the team compliment to 9 riders.

New race formats and Saturday race events were introduced for 2013 creating a few problems and a few good points. The good points are that we now race together with the Cross Country riders on the same day, adding spectator count and atmosphere to the Downhill event. It was more like a National event as opposed to a club event. The negative was a lack of practice time to get to know the course properly. I found this out first hand when my new bike was delivered to me on Friday afternoon and having to learn the course, get used to the bike and get back into Downhill racing (after a 8 month lay off) in only two practice runs on race day. Just had to get on and ride………. Was very very rusty but had fun!!

The Gravity-Life team had a great start with 4 riders getting onto the podium.

Travis Browning rode his all (also on a new bike with limited practice) to finish 3rd in the Elite men category. New team members Justin Burns and Mike Reid finishing 8th and 9th and Nic Venter in 13th place in the ultra-competitive Elite Mens category.
Ladies Elite team riders Kate Stephenson and Roxanne Baney rode hard to finish 2nd and 3rd behind the strong JHB rider Nadia Botha.
Gravity-Life's "Grand Pa" rider, Lawrence Henning finished 2nd overall in the Veteran Mens category. He was only a few seconds off the 1st place rider and vowed to get that 1st place back at the next event.

Top Elite men rider, Kelvin Purchase was missing from the days racing due to a bad strain of flu. He will be ready for the next event.

Our next Downhill event is the International Africa Continental Championships on 10 March 2013 at Cascades in Pietermaritzburg. All the Gravity-Life Elite riders will be wearing South African colours representing South Africa against various other African Nations. This is a big event on our calendar which should see some TV coverage of the event.

Parys National 4x4 X-Track Racing

On the 9th Feb 2013 the 1st national 4x4 x-track racing event for the year was held in Parys (Free State)

Since the end of last year I have been rebuilding my challenge car in the hope of improving it. I have upgraded to stronger better axles, I have changed gearbox ratios and thus also changed diff ratios hoping to give me a lower 1st gear for those slow rock crawling speeds so I don't ride the clutch as much. I have also changed the steering for better steering response but the biggest change of all is I upgraded to a smaller more powerful motor and also dropped the engine and gearbox down hoping to have a better center of gravity. With a new motor comes all new wiring and engine management so in a nutshell the roll cage I think is the only thing that stayed the same. Unfortunately once installing the new motor we had huge mechanical issues which took weeks to sort out and I ended up only finishing the challenge car at midnight the night before leaving for the event so I didn't even get a test drive or a chance to get used to the new car.

To make the pressure even worse some of the top drivers have joined our class to make our class even more competitive so we now have 5 past SA champions all in 1 class let alone the other good drivers in the class and the class has grown from 7 to 12 which qualifies our class to run its own SA championship within a class as opposed to overall between several other class like it did last year.

Anyways come the time trial (1st thing on the day and basically the 1st drive in the new car.) The steering was so sensitive and easy which is a good thing but something I wasn't used to. It was fantastic but something I had to get used to so I don't over steer on obstacles. I got a pretty good time not the best but not far off but was immediately impressed by my upgrades.

When we got to the 1st obstacle I soon found out that It was going to be hard deciding what gear to use as when I used to use 2nd I am now using 3rd (all in low range) but 3rd wasn't doing the job and 4th was too high. I have since after that day discovered that the engine tuners left my rev limit way to low and that was stopping me getting up some obstacles.

It didn't take long for me to gently roll my car on its side. Again it was I concentrating on what gear to use and not looking where my steering was facing. So yes embarrassingly enough I managed to roll early in the day and at the 1st event. No damage done to the car though. What I did learn from that obstacle was that I am still riding my clutch like I had to do with the old less powerful motor and that I need to try get out of that bad habit with the new motor.

I wouldn't say I was doing well towards halfway through the day, if anything I would think I was last or 2nd to last. But we came up to this very steep obstacle that was one of those point and shoot obstacles (aim, rev the car high and drop the clutch and ramp up the hill) well the 1st few couldn't make it up and a few got only 10 points or 0 points. Then 1 car in front of me, he ramped up the hill making is to the top but facing straight to the sky and still accelerating he ended up rolling backwards all the way down and destroying his rim. Now I have always been known as the 1 to make it up these type of obstacles and my car used to be suited for these, so I closed my eyes and had a small focus session mentally preparing myself when to drop the clutch and when to hit the brakes and when to step back on the accelerator again. I have to admit I was a little scared. So my 1st attempt failed and I'm not sure how far up I made it but I reversed and lined up for a 2nd go. Listening to my co drivers advise to aim a little to the left I went for it fully committed and made it to the top but sadly hitting a peg loosing 20 points, but that was only half the obstacle. I had to turn around and drive back down a 90° drop off and over some big rocks. Well I made it down and again abused my clutch over the rocks but made it through as the 1st person to make it. I think most of the people that followed me made it up and through as well but was still a good feeling to be the 1stand know the car could still do those type of obstacles

I made a few stupid mistakes on the next few obstacles and also scored some good points on other obstacles but by now I knew I wasn't doing very well so focused to getting used to the car as opposed to a good result. Come the last obstacle I was 1st and tried to test my car and not go for points and ended up with 0 and so did some other competitors, but the scariest moment was when one of the last competitors rolled down the rocks and sadly putting his hands on the safety nets he crushed his finger and it was not a good sight but luckily after going to hospital things looked worse that it seemed and he is ok and just got some stitches. This is the 1st bad injury I have known of since I've been racing and a reminder of how extreme this sport can be.

At the end of the day I drove all obstacles even if I did really bad in them I considered each obstacle as a good practice to get used to the new challenge car. Out of the 12 cars in my class I think there were only 2 completely new cars in the class so everyone I was driving against knew their cars well and had an advantage and the 1 competitor in his new car only drove some obstacles in fear of breaking the new car but I still feel it's better to at least try the obstacle even if you get 0, it's all about learning the new setup of the car and if you don't try the obstacle you won't learnt he car.

I ended up finishing in 7th place out of the 12, which I can be sad about but I am actually more impressed because I am in a new car. I will try iron out some small issues and try getting 1 or 2 good practice sessions in before Rustenburg next month where I'm hoping to do a lot better.

The Downhill World Championship is the biggest Downhill event in the World and its happening right here on our doorstep in KZN. We will also be competing in the Masters Downhill World Champs at the same venue from 22-25 August 2013. Very exciting stuff indeed !!!!!!!!

rAge 2012

This past weekend Legion of Anubis attended one of the biggest yearly E-Sports events in South Africa. The rAge 2012 expo was said to have more than 20 000 visitors over the weekend, this only includes the expo visitors.
Behind that is the annual NAG LAN held with the expo as well as the Telkom Do Gaming League championships. The NAG LAN itself had 2600 gamers play computer games. The Do Gaming League this year achieved a new all high with 560 professional players competing in various games (disciplines), this made the Do Gaming League the largest competitive E-Sports event in SA to date.

Legion of Anubis was all part of this under the banner of Veneration E-Sports, with Volt Energy Drinks (We had a total of 40 players attend).
We've written a write up of our progress at the event on our Veneration Website: www.veneration.co.za
You can also find photo's on our facebook page: Veneration E-Sports

This was one of the most professional events we've ever competed at and a big thanks to Volt Energy Drinks for their support over the last year!

1st in South Africa

This past weekend was the final National event of the 2012 series. I started the day lying 2nd in class in the championship and 3rd overall in SA. I needed to beat the guy that was 1st in class by more than 2 positions at the end of the day to come 1st in class (2nd overall in SA) and for me to even overtake 1st overall in SA I would have to come 1st and the guy in 1st would have to come 4th or worse in his class. It was an extremely hot day and very difficult to stay hydrated and focused so I knew things weren't going to be easy.

I started off the day on a bad note... I rolled the car pretty hard on the 2nd obstacle and hurt my neck, but I continued on trying to remain focused and trying to catch up on some points. I was slowly catching up until halfway through the day when I rolled a 2nd time, this time after being recovered I realised my brakes weren't working anymore and I had to continue the 2nd half of the day driving with my handbrake only. With Rustenburg's steep up and down hills I was very nervous! As I started getting the hang of driving with only a handbrake my hydraulic steering started playing up(it felt like it was getting worse after the last few nationals but it wasn't too noticeable) this time I could feel huge slippage in the orbital valve. So now I had to focus on non-responsive steering and no brakes. It was as if winning wasn't meant to be.

Although I had my car problems and was having to steer with 1 hand only on a steering wheel that wasn't really working and the left hand permanently on the handbrake as the footbrake did nothing I was still slowly catching up to the top 3. On the 3rd to last obstacle I had a plan how to attack the obstacle and miss the first banner that everyone else was hitting. But I had to watch the others first go up the steep hill and make it between the trees and pegs. My biggest opponent that I had guessed was in 1st or 2nd place so far on the day and who was 1st in class for the championship went up the hill before me and straight into the tree similar to all the others. On the 2nd attempt he rolled down the hill damaging his roll cage. (he had to fix his roll cage and get scrutineered back in before he could continue again). I on the other hand made it up the hill 1st time and only losing 10 points for the obstacle I knew I was close. I then got full 60 points on the next obstacle and the guy who rolled got zero as he was still fixing his bent roll cage. I now guessed I had overtaken him in points but I had to beat him by 2 positions to take class win for the year. He managed to make it back for the last obstacle and he drove before me getting 30 points and I only managed to get 20. Then the guy who I knew was close to us only got 10points so we weren't sure who came where and if I had managed to beat the 1 guy by the 2 positions.

Come prize giving I found out I had come 1st on the day and the guy I needed to beat by 2 positions had come 3rd so I had done it. I WON the class for 2012. I then found out that the guy in the other class who was sitting in SA#1 came 5th on the day thus making me win the SA championship for 2012. So not only did I come 1st for the event but I came 1st in Gauteng regionals for 2012 and 1st in nationals class for 2012 AND overall combined classes I came 1st in South Africa.

Thank you so much for your support this Season. without your help I certainly would not have been able to reach this great achievement.

Keep well
Brett Law

Wesvaal 4x4 National

On the 11 August 2012 the 6th round of the National 4x4 season was held at Wesvaal track neat Fochville. To start off my bad luck I was full of flu and also had a stomach bug at the same time and was off sick from work for 3 days due to it. Then being a public holiday on the Thursday I left at 3am Thursday to travel to Fochville and got stuck at Mooi river in the snow/iced up roads for 5 hours.

I was so sick that I didn't even go look at the track the day before the challenge. I just rocked up on the morning and my Co-driver organised all the documentation and put the car through scrutineering and I just slept in the car till start time. I heard from everyone that looked at the track that it was the type of track that everyone should get the same points per each obstacle unless you make a silly mistake and then it's going to be difficult to make that loss up.
We started off in the time trail and got a good enough time but not the best time. We then went to the 1st obstacle. And as expected everyone got 50 points then we went to the 2nd obstacle and everyone got 60 points. By the end of the 2nd obstacle the only place I wanted to be was in a hospital as I really wasn't feeling well and by now a cold hard wind had started to blow making my chest even worse. When we got to the 3rd obstacle being a progressive and only getting points up t where you reach and everyone else only getting 10 points out of it I had a plan to take out some banners and aiming for 20 or possibly 30 points. Sadly my co driver forgot to lock his safety door/net and I went of the bank the door flew open and I was disqualified for that obstacle. I wasn't impressed but mistakes happen. And although majority only got 10 points of that obstacle...10 points was going to be hard to make up.

A few obstacles later I was to go 2nd and the guy who went 1st dropped down the bank and rolled all the way down and even into a thorn tree cutting the co drivers face a little. My co driver being a little worried tried to convince me on how to drive down this obstacle but I was insisting I wanted to drive down the way I planned to. Well we dropped off the steep drop off as graceful as even and made it all the way down and up the other end with full 60 points. Other competitors either followed my route and also got 60 and a few others 50.
The next obstacle I was 1st and we had to drive down a steep angled bank that should require a little momentum at the bottom so not to roll over but at the bottom you had to turn sharp left as there was a bank at the bottom you didn't want to get caught up against. Well as I was going down the steep bank I was a little hard on the brakes and the back of the car lifted in the air but I quickly released the brakes but the back of the car in the air fell sideways almost rolling over but luckily it didn't but it lined me up perfectly for the rest of the obstacle and I ended up getting full 60 points. There weren't many that were able to get full points like I was so that helped me out a lot.

Towards the end of the day I was really drained and we did an obstacle that everyone in front of me had either gotten 60 or 50 points and I was last on that obstacle. And for some reason I couldn't get up the exit. The rear drivers side wheel kept falling into a hole and with the nose of the car facing he sky it kept wanting to roll me over backwards. I ended up getting 10 points for that obstacle so I knew I had messed up my day and only to find out I possibly was in 1st place at that point made me even more depressed. The last obstacles we all just about got the exact same points so I knew that 1 messed up obstacle and the obstacle I was disqualified for had messed up my day and thinking I was in last place or 2nd to last place in class I didn't even bother going to prize giving (also because I was very sick and exhausted)

A couple of hours later my co driver phoned to say we came 3rd for the day which was really shocking and showed well I did in all the other obstacles. Sadly the guy who was 2nd in class in the championship points came 1st on the day and now in the championship I am in 2nd place in class (just 1 point behind 1st) and I'm not sure overall in the SA top 10 . I would imagine I have dropped from 2nd to 3rd. but there are still 2 challenges to go but in class with 3rd place 4 points behind me and me 1 point behind 1st its going to be a tough 2 challenges.

Bullet And Sponsors Decals were visible all the way to and from Wesvaal (Fochville) and there was a huge turnout of spectators and again the TV crew was there to record all the hot action on the day.

Thanks for all your support
Brett Law

Team Gravity-Life/VOLT Energy

Team Gravity-Life/Volt Energy have done the unthinkable by securing 14 Downhill Championship titles in 2012 thus far. This is a world first as this has never been achieved anywhere else in the world of Downhill racing. This puts the team in a strong position to race in the Downhill World Championships being held in Pietermaritzburg in August / September 2013.

The following titles have been secured thus far in 2012:

Greg Minnaar / Mongoose KZN Series:
1st Elite Ladies - Kate Stephenson
1st Sub Junior Boys - Christopher Philogene
1st Youth Men - Jonathan Philogene
1st Veteran Men - Lawrence Henning
KZN Championship:
1st Elite Ladies - Kate Stephenson
1st Sub Junior Boys - Christopher Philogene
1st Youth Men - Jonathan Philogene
1st Veteran Men - Lawrence Henning
SA Cup Championship:
1st Elite Ladies - Kate Stephenson
1st Sub Junior Boys - Christopher Philogene
1st Youth Men - Jonathan Philogene
1st Veteran Men - Lawrence Henning
SA Championship:
1st Sub Junior Boys - Christopher Philogene
1st Youth Men - Jonathan Philogene
A huge congratulations goes out to Jonathan and Christopher Philogene for securing the SA Championships in their respective classes. A special mention must go out to 15 year old Jonathan who also secured 4th overall in the combined classes when he set the 4th fastest time of all during the day. This achievement secured him as the 4th fastest Downhill rider in South Africa.

Congratulations also goes out to Elite Men riders Brad Purchase and Kelvin Purchase for securing 3rd and 5th overall in the Elite Men SA Championship. This was an incredible achievement by both Brad and Kelvin as they were the first riders to approach a broken wooden bridge which required them to take a detour costing them precious time.

We are now preparing for a new 4 race Downhill series that will end at the end of November. We still have more championships to win and striving for 20 Championships.

A big thank you to Volt Energy for all their assistance with the Team thus far. Every single team rider is extremely grateful for the support Volt Energy are giving us.

Legions of Anubis update

Legion of Anubis would like to start off by thanking VOLT Energy for sponsoring each player attending the monthly dAZLAN with a VOLT Energy drink, as well as all competition winners with Volts. Earlier the week the facebook groups were buzzing with players eager to taste Volt and go head to head against LOA in the dAZLAN competitions, this was dAZLAN's most successful event thus far and a total of 140 players attended this months event,of which 20 LOA players showed up.

The Event started at 16H00 on the 29th June, LOA members arrived in dribs and drabs and we were very excited to once again use our VOLTs to our advantage. Loads of players were waiting outside to get into the event and start setting up their systems (Computers).

The competitions started at 18H30, The first competition to be played was DOTA, the winners received prizes from the dAZLAN sponsors. Legion of Anubis decided to enter the next competition which was CSS (Counter Strike Source) were we entered two teams and both did exceptionally well, LOA-Volt2 (Kova, Boner, Psycho, Doggie and Xtatic) ended up in the Semi-Finals and LOA-Volt1 (Vandilizer, XaXas, Goku, Moord and Intensity) ended up playing against eXe (Executioners) in the finals, after eXe defeated the LOA-Volt2 team in the semi's.
LOA-Volt1 dominated the finals by defeating the eXe team 15-0.

Once the CSS event was completed they started with the TrackMania Competition, where LOA/Moord won ⅖ of the races unfortunately just missing the top ranks for a medal position.

After a super long wait for the Call of Duty 4 Competition, we started with the first leg around 7am Saturday morning. We all were amped but unfortunately the LOA-Volt1 (Vandilizer, XaXas, Goku, Kova and Pyscho) team fell out in the first round against team eNergy, LOA-Volt3 (Boner, Dragon, NoRules, Doggie and Xtatic) ended up in the finals against eNergy, they had to change the rules as there was not enough time to complete the competition and instead of playing 24 rounds, they played 6 rounds instead, first to 3 will take the win.
Unfortunately the LOA-Volt3 team lost 3-0 against eNergy, which concluded our time at dAZLAN.

We all went our separate ways, everyone satisfied with the outcome of the event, and looked forward to get back home and sleep before meeting up online again. It was great to meet all of our latest recruits and get to know them personally. Vandilizer and Goku we thank you once again for traveling all the way from the Mpumalanga (Middelburg/Secunda) region to join us in this event!
Legion of Anubis would like to thank Volt Energy for its sponsorship as well as dAZLAN for the opportunity, a special thanks to Darryl "dAZ" for all his effort. He was really a great help to all our questions and requests, and we at LOA are looking forward to the next dAZLAN event!

Legions of Anubis

KZN leg of the National Series

On the 23rd June 2012 the KZN leg of the National series was held in Highstakes Cato ridge. There were 2 of us that organised and ran this event and being our 1st time I was a little stressed on the day and worried it would affect my days driving.

We started the day off handing out VOLT Energy Drinks to all competitors, Marshalls and the TV crew. They all were very grateful and interested in the energy drink and some asked where to buy as they really liked it.

My class started out on the time trail and I was lucky enough to get the second fastest in our class which put my spirits high.

We then started on our 1st obstacle. This obstacle had a huge 90° drop off before having to climb up a steep bank. The other option was to not go off the steep drop off and take a roll back but then you were lined up the steep bank at a angle and the cars just weren't making it. I decided to attempt the huge drop off but as I dropped of the ledge my rear of the car tried to overtake me and my whole car was doing a nose stand, I quickly hit the accelerator and the car dropped back down. But now I was lined up in front of a small tree. So I just decided to drive over the tree but when the tree fell down I got stuck on top of it.

On the next obstacle the 1st car couldn't make it out the steep sideways exit up the hill, me being 2nd I revved the car and dropped the clutch my car took off like a rocket facing toward the moon with all 4 wheels in the air. I had no control of the car and as I landed again the car fell onto the side thus getting 0. The other KZN driver came up to me and jokingly asked what I was doing .little did he know come his turn he actually went bigger and higher than I did and fell straight onto his room from a major height totally bending his roll cage and chassis frame but the damage wasn't bad enough that he couldn't compete anymore. Other competitors made it up with points so I was instantly way behind in the rankings.

On the 3rd obstacle luckily I was 1st down there and I made it out with losing only a few points but getting points none the less. some of the others couldn't make it out which was good for me catching up to them. 1 guy made it up with full points putting him in 1st place.

For the next few obstacles we all more or less got the same amount of points.

On the 5th to last obstacle I got stuck with the vehicle against a tree on the RH side. With a lot of wheel spinning and using the tree to swing around and got out the exit with a few points but it ripped some of my body panels off and slightly bend my door nets. But worth it none the less.

On the 4th to last obstacle there were only a hand full that made it out so I knew I was in the top 3 but wasn't sure where. But luckily I was now at the back of the pack following everyone so I could see their mistakes. On the 3rd to last obstacle everyone was trying for full points and getting stuck in the hole. I decided to take a safer route and take the 1 exit banner out and lose 20 points but at least get out with points. This is did and this put me in the lead, the 2nd to last obstacle I got the most points on the progressive so putting me even further in the lead. Then came the last obstacle which was a progressive up a very steep hill that couldn't even be walked. The higher you got up the hill the more points you got. But on either side of this steep narrow hill was huge drop offs so a fall in these holes would surely hurt. The person who was in 2nd place was luckily before me and he only got to 10 points before rolling into the hole. I decided to go for full points as no one could catch up to my points. As I hit the 50 point mark my car veered left towards the hole. I hit the brakes and expecting to fall of the ledge I hit reverse and tried to reverse down the hill before falling off. I did this successfully but reverses down the hill with such speed and directly into a hole that my back suspension bottomed out and me holding the steering wheel with such force that I actually bent the whole steering wheel frame down. But I got my 50 points securing my 1st place for the day

Come prize giving I discovered that i won by 100 points which was really good given how close the results have been so far this year in the previous challenges.

This has put me back in 1st place in class and either 2nd place overall or maybe even 1st place overall. Will have to wait for the confirmed overall results.

Sadly due to the poor cold wet weather we never got as many spectators as past years but we still had a great turn out indeed.

Bullet and Sponsor Stickers were visible all the way to and from the challenge and there again was the TV crew there and I again got interviewed so will forward the TV broadcast dates when I receive them.

Thanks for your support

Gravity-Life Volt take 4 SA Cup National Titles

Was really great to have the Volt Energy gazebo and banners up. They used the Volt Energy Gazebo as the info area for the riders, resulting in Volt Energy being mentioned several times over the PA system (and during a Red Bull sponsored event). It was a great thought to have Volt Energy at this event and I speak for all the riders when I say that they really appreciate the support that you give to the team.

Yesterday's course was rather tough claiming many victims, including me. I had a big off in my seeding run and was a doubtful starter in the timed runs. It felt like I had fractured my hip and found it difficult to walk. Had to suck up the pain and coast down in my timed run to register a time. Thankfully I did enough to secure the SA Cup National Veterans title and after a check up today, have no fractures to worry about.

A big congrats goes out to following team riders who also secured SA Cup National Championship titles:
Christopher Philogene (Youth Boys)
Jonathan Philogene (Youth Men)
Kate Stephenson (Elite Ladies)
The above four riders also recently secured the 2012 KZN Championships and are looking good to secure the 2012 Greg Minnaar Racing / Mongoose KZN Series titles.

On behalf of the entire Gravity-Life team, we thank Volt Energy for their continued support.

Successful Downhill event at Rico

Brad Purchase missed the overall victory in the Mens Elite class by 0,037 of a second. I know its bugging him !!!!

Top Elite team rider Travis Browning had an unfortunate fall resulting in his right wrist being broken. He will be out for the next six weeks recovering.

Team individual results as follows:

Our next event is the last round of the SA Cup National Championships being held at Worlds View in PMB next weekend. The team will be in full force to secure the Elite, Ladies, Veterans, Junior Men and Sub Junior Men National titles.

The team would like to thank Volt Energy for their wonderful support so far. We are looking forward to running the new bike branding for the rest of the season. The new branding will be revealed at the SA Cup National event next weekend.

SA national challenge 4X4 series

On the 02 June 2012 the 3rd leg of the SA national challenge series was held at the Meyer ton 4x4 show. This was a newly built man-made track (earthmoving equipment used to dig big holes). The day started off very cold. +/1 -1°C this made me extremely cold and my brain just wanted to get back into bed and fall asleep. I quickly had a pick me up (VOLT ENERGY DRINK) and soon after was ready to go.

We started off with the time trial, this time they made a dual time trial so we could race vs our own class (I wasn't happy with this when I saw this as the 1 track was full of mud and the other not which meant is not a fair time trail if its not the same coarse). My luck I had the muddy side and I could barely make the tight turns let alone get some good speed. I was 4-wheel drive drifting around the course and I ended up with a ridiculous slow time. By what I could see everyone that was on the muddy side was having the same difficulties.

The obstacles were extremely hard and a few of them we all ran out of points half way through which was sad because they looked like such fun obstacles and I really would love to have made it to the end even with low points. We were also stuck driving with another class which slowed us down even further which meant we wouldn't get to do all 12 obstacles (real disappointing if you've driven all the way from Durban).

On one of the obstacles it was my turn to go 1st. I dropped down the steep bank and then with a sharp left turn out the hole with the car wanting to lean over to the RH side I revved the car up and tried to get out the hole. The 1st attempt made me go straight instead of turn. I took a rollback and lost some points lined up better and shot out the hole. I then made it through the next set of pegs but sadly when re-entering the next hole I hadn't watched my LH side against the peg and it touched loosing me 20 points. Anyways I made it out the rest of the obstacle but with 0 points. Had I not touched that peg (which I could have done had I concentrated more) then I would have gotten 20 points extra on the day and the only 1 to score points on that obstacle. Many couldn't even make it out the 1st hole showing how difficult the obstacle actually was. Anyways further along on the day I made some stupid mistakes and some good points.

The last 2 obstacles I think they were, went very well for me and terribly bad for others. 1st was the rock/brick foundation obstacle… they had piled huge boulders and building foundations on top on each other to make a very rigid and jagged hill obstacle. These obstacles are extremely tough on the vehicles prop shafts, diffs, chassis and axle arms (things normally bend or break) if you don't put your wheels in the right line and on the correct rock then you get stuck and can't go any further. To make it worse this was a progressive so you got points as far as you got and could only take 1 rollback. Most competitors that I can remember only got half way and took their points. Wise because after half way (the peak of the hill) there was a steep decent down with huge 90° drop offs on the LH side of the vehicle which meant you were not only dropping down a huge drop off but also the vehicle would be leaning at a possible roll angle all while the chassis and axle arms will be scraping on the rocks and possibly hooking up and causing a roll. 1 fellow competitor in front of me drove the exact line I was planning on taking and made it all the way through and got full points which gave me the confidence but also made me nervous of the fact of the drop off after seeing how much his car leant over. Luckily I took the same line he did and made it all the way down also with full points, which secured me my position that I thought I was tied in.

The last obstacle that we had time for was a progressive tyre pit filled with huge tractor and heavy machinery tyres oddly stacked. If your diffs or chassis gets caught up on tyres you are basically stuck because unlike rocks, which slide, tyres just grip on your undercarriage. And wheel spinning on tyres just causing a huge amount of smoke. Most made it up to 30 points with myself only just getting 30. I drove into the tyres then revved the car up and dropped the clutch but at the 10-point mark I god stuck on my chassis or diffs. I tried the higher gears and higher 7000/8000 rev mark swinging the steering left and right causing a lot of smoke and I mean a lot of smoke! Finally with revving the car at high speed and constantly stomping the brakes the car shook off from being stuck and I shot a bit more forward ending up in a hole at the 30 point mark. I had made it through the day without breakages and without rolling sadly while towing me out the tyre pit the recovery car pulled me too much sideways rolling the car gently onto the side. (Technically not a roll a laughed and shouted out). 1 or 2 fellow mad competitors made it to the 40 mark with a lot of speed…CRAZY.

At the end of the day I finished in 3rd place just 15 points behind 2nd and 27 points behind 1st. just shows how 1 small mistake can cost you a position, but the same applies to all the drivers. After this event I have now dropped down to 2nd in class just 1 point behind 1st and overall in all classes dropped to 3rd place again 1 point behind 2nd. But still a long season ahead. This challenge being within a 4x4 show the spectator turnout was massive and a record high. TV cameras were again there and I will inform you of the broadcast dates once I receive them. Bullet and Sponsor decals were visible all the way to Meyerton (Gauteng) and back to Durban through the comrades traffic.

Thanks again for your support!
Brett Law

Team Gravity-Life Volt

Team Gravity-Life Volt Energy made the long drive down to Port Elizabeth for round three of the SA Cup National Championships on 26/27 May 2012. The normal SA Cup team rider compliment was reduced from seven riders down to three due to exams, niggling injuries and sick team riders.

However, even with this setback Team Gravity-Life came back leading the SA Cup Championships in the Veterans Class (Lawrence Henning), Sub Junior Boys class (Christopher Philogene) and Youth Men class (Jonathan Philogene), with Kelvin Purchase elevated to second place in the Elite Men class.

The fourth and final round of the SA Cup National series will be held at Worlds View (PMB) on 23/24 June 2012. With this being a "home" race, the full team compliment of 12 riders will be competing.
Team Gravity-Life Volt Energy will be on the verge of securing the Elite Men, Veteran, Sub Junior Boys and Youth Men SA Cup Championships at this event. Close examination of the rules and points log, indicates that Gravity-Life Volt Energy Elite Ladies rider, Kate Stephenson stands a good chance in securing the Ladies Elite SA Cup Championship, should she compete in the event (which I know she will). Potentially the team could secure five SA Cup Championships to add to the four KZN Championships they already have.

Our next event is on 10 June 2012 at Ricos in PMB with the SA Cup on 23/24 June 2012.

Kai Henning will be representing the team in BMX with his next KZN event on 17 June 2012 at Queensbrough and the SA National Championships at Giba Gorge on 30 June / 01 July 2012.

Many thanks to VOLT Energy Drink for all the wonderful support and assistance thus far.

VOLT Fight Night is a 'knockout' for EL supporters

MIGHTY SWING: Andrew Beneke throws a booming right at opponent Neil du Plooy during Fight Night at Hemingways Casino on Saturday. Du Plooy went on to knock Beneke out in the third and final round Picture: MARK ANDREWS by Kathryn Kimberley

HUNDREDS of East Londoners enjoyed the first Volt Energy Drink Fight Night at Hemingways Mall on Saturday night, which saw some of the best amateur and up-and-coming professional fighters in the country take to the ring.
Fighters from local club, Black Dragons, drew the most support with six out of eight wins.
Kicking off the night in the amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) bantamweight section, East Londoner Darren Nel, lost out to Nicholaas Vermaak, from Randfontein, in what was a closely contested match-up.
In the first Kickboxing (K1) fight of the night, Gerald Holthazen beat fellow East Londoner Travis du Plessis, with a technical knock out (TKO) in just 1:39.
In what was probably the best K1 fight of the night, Neil du Plooy from Bloemfontein beat Andrew Beneke with a TKO four rounds into the fight. The fight could have gone either way, but Du Plooy's strong arm ultimately overpowered the East Londoner.
Fighting for the first time, Kyle Boatride from East London gave Sipo Fodo from Black Dragons the runaround, before experience eventually took over.
Boatride took several cheap shots to the groin but was determined to last three rounds.
In the first professional K1 fight of the night, East London favourite, Mawande Masitande, lost to Christiaan Kidson from Johannesburg on a TKO in the second round. Masitande was taken to hospital following severe eye injuries. Kidson improved his record to 32 wins, from 33 fights.
Bloemfontein's Devin Cronje tapped out to Justin Bradfield, from East London, just 48 seconds in.
Crowd favourite Mavrick Luff, drew supporters to their feet in what was his debut K1 fight. Luff took on Brendan Mortimer, but was knocked out with an upper cut one minute 46 seconds into the second round.
One of the most enjoyable fights came from the amateur heavy weight MMA section, when, former league rugby player, Brendan Groenewald beat Edwan Homsed from Bloemfontein, in a nailbiting three rounds.
Ending off the night with two professional fights before the much-anticipated finale, two of Black Dragon's best fighters, Mabasa Cakata (K1) and Gavin Green (MMA) won both their respective fights.
Dustie Pienaar, from Johannesburg, put up a sterling effort before losing in a TKO to Cakata two minutes, nine seconds into the second round.
Johannesburg's Kallie Heins was no contest for Green, when he lost on a TKO in just 1:59.
Saving the best for last, Giovanni Bushby, from event organiser Aubrey Luff's Fighting Concept Gym, did not disappoint his avid supporters when he beat Lucky Nonthle in the main fight of the night.
Nonthle travelled to East London from Johannesburg on Thursday night after Lawrence Cassim, who was scheduled to fight against Bushby, failed a medical. Cassim reportedly had water on his lungs.
The high-profile judges included K1, Pride and Strikeforce veteran Jan Nortje, International K1 fighter and three-time K1 Africa Grand Prix champion Andrew Thomson, and MMA & Muay Thai fighter Ken O'Connor, who was also the winner of the 2010 Koh Tao Challenge in Thailand.
Algoa's FM's Gordon Graham was an entertaining ring announcer.
Commenting on the success of his fighters, Black Dragons owner, Rod Young, said although they always trained hard, his fighters had put in the extra hours leading up to Saturday night's event.
"I think the supporters also like the flag that says ‘Black Dragons Boys of Death' that we bring out into the ring before every fight. It is something different," Young said.
He was particularly proud of Cakata, who he said had fought exceptionally well.
"Gavin Green also did a fantastic job as he went into the ring as the underdog but was determined not to let his opponent beat him."
Event organiser Luff thanked all the sponsors involved. He said the event had been a sell-out with one or two hiccups that would be ironed out at the next tournament.
He said East Londoners could look forward to another event which would take place in the city later this year.
"The response received from supporters was tremendous, well-organised and put together," Luff added.

Bloemfontein National with Brett Law

On the 14 April 2012 the 2nd leg of the Nationals was held in Bloemfontein.
When I looked at the track in the morning the tracked looked hard but exciting. Only 1 obstacle looked impossible from my eyes.

From the 1st obstacle I did pretty well but not as well as 2 others. It knocked a little of my confidence out but I kept positive for the next obstacle.
The 2nd obstacle was probably the worse we have had to drive down.1st we had to drive up and around this huge rock with a sharp angle and then the passenger side wheels hade to drop of a 2.5m 90° rock and the passenger the same but maybe 80°. There was such a fine line coming down the rock that if you braked to hard or got caught on other rocks coming down you would roll, if you went to fast you would miss the exit gate and loose points. Luckily only 2 of us made it down with full points and myself being 1 of them the other also from KZN.
The 3rd obstacle nearly everyone else got full points except for me due to miscommunication between diver and co-driver (I just clipped a peg and lost 20points). The 4th obstacle is the obstacle is the obstacle I was most afraid of and thought everybody would get 0. You had to drive at such a sideways angle that the car would slide onto the pegs and then at that angle turn sharp right up hill and then halfway up the hill which was already steep miss a peg positioned in the road and the turn sharp left up a small steep exit. Seeing this was a progressive (score points as far as you get) most were either getting 0 or 10 points. I drove and somehow missed the 1st banner and then aimed to take out the 2nd banner before turning up the sharp right turn. Well I went for the banner and went up the hill and at that stage not knowing I had somehow missed all the banners so far then we tried to get out the exit gate which put my front left wheel about 1m in the air off the ground and my car nearly falling over. Well I slowly crept forward and the car came down and made it out the exit with full points. I actually didn't believe it, nor did anyone else actually.

For the rest of the day I was in the lead for sure but wasn't sure how far ahead. Then on the 2nd to last obstacle I was driving at a steep sideways angle again but my car used to be able to handle these angles, and my car rolled hard over hitting the ground with hard sideways force and forward force as I tried to drop the clutch and race forward to save the roll. The car got no damage but not expecting the roll, my neck whipped from the right shoulder to the left with such force that I was really hurt. (this is the 1st time in 7 years and more that 50 roll overs that I have ever been hurt)
Anyways I kind of knew I had thrown 1st place away but still gave my best in the last obstacle. I only scored 20 points in the last obstacle and luckily the guy I presumed was in 1st abandoned route and got 0.

Come prize giving we found out myself and the other KZN driver came tied 1st but during the day we always do a time trial to eliminate such cases and myself coming 1 second slower than the guy I was tied with . I ended up in 2nd spot for the day and with a very sore neck.

After rolling the same way 2 nationals in a row now I have started to think that my shocks on the LH side might have lost some pressure and I am now going try investigate it further and maybe Freight the shocks to JHB for servicing so this unexpected rolling doesn't happen in the near future. As I say.. I normally can feel the tipping point of the car and these 2 recent rolls is telling me something is wrong.

Gravity-Life and Volt Energy Drink

Gravity-Life and Volt Energy takes three 1st overall positions!!!

A great days racing for Gravity-Life and VOLT Energy Drink at round 2 of the SA Cup Downhill National series up in Pretoria.

The high altitude played havoc with the KZN riders, sucking every bit of oxygen and energy out our bodies, but the KZN boys pulled through and took home all the overall class positions except for the Sub Vets class.

Lawrence Henning won overall in the Vets class, Christopher Philogene winning the Sub Junior Boys and Jonathan Philogene winning the Junior Mens class. The hotly contested Sub Vets class saw Gravity-Life and VOLT Energy Drink rider, Dean Henning finishing in 5th place overall. Local track knowledge helped the top 4 Johannesburg based riders in the Sub Vet class.

Elite Men riders Travis Browning and Kelvin Purchase did a sterling job on race day, considering that Travis had a big off during Saturday practice and looked like a non-starter for Sundays event. Travis took his voltarens, packed his injuries with ice overnight and was ready to race on Sunday. He did an excellent job finishing 2nd overall in Elite men while nursing a bruised shoulder and wrist. Kelvin Purchase finished 3rd overall in Elite Mens class, with less than half a second separating Travis and Kelvin at the finish.

It was great to hear the CSA commissar comment during the prize giving, on how professional the Gravity-Life team portrays itself.

Our next Downhill event is round 3 of the SA Cup National series down in Port Elizabeth on 26/27 May 2012. Our next BMX event will be the SA National Championships in PMB on 28/29 April where Gravity-Life rider Kai Henning has been chosen to represent KZN in the 6-7 year old Expert class.

Gravity-Life would like to thank VOLT Energy Drink for all their valued assistance thus far. Without your help we would not be racing.

KZN Downhill series at Worlds View

Had a great result at round 3 of the KZN Downhill series at Worlds View yesterday. Gravity-Life / Volt / First Freight / Fox took 3 overall wins with Kate Stephenson winning the Ladies Elite, Christopher Philogene winning the Sub Junior boys and Lawrence Henning beating the current SA Vets Champ into first place in the Vets class.

The day started with everyone fitting mud tyres to cope with the muddy conditions, but by early afternoon the mud had dried up turning the course into a fast challenging dash down the mountain.

Dean Henning took a 3RD overall in the Sub Vets class, Jonathan Philogene finished 2nd overall in the Junior Mens class (by .003 of a second) with Elite men riders Brad Purchase 5th overall, Kelvin Purchase 4th overall and Travis Browning 3rd overall. Was good to see current World Cup leader, Greg Minnaar in the mix with the Elite riders.

Our next stop is the SA Champs in Pretoria on 14-15 April 2013. A strong contingent of Gravity-Life / Volt /First Freight / Fox riders will be heading to Pretoria to represent KZN.

Some interesting developing news is that a few of the Gravity- Life riders may be able to enter in the Downhill World Championship event being held in PMB in September 2013. Extra class categories have been included in the event, giving more riders the opportunity to compete. Classes that will be included is Junior Men, Sub Vets , Vets and Masters. Exciting stuff!! I need to go and win the SA champs now to automatically qualify for the World Championships !!!!!

Jed’s Journey

Jed was diagnosed at the age of 3 years 10 months and had his first surgery in August 2008 - Pathology showed brain cancer. Since August 2008 little Jed has had 3 major brain operations and 7 other surgeries (his appendix burst mid treatment), he has endured radiation twice and has been on chemo since diagnoses. Jed's cancer is very rare and known as an Anaplastic Astrocytoma grade 3. Jed's immune system is weakened due to chemo and is home schooled by his mom, who gave up work when Jed relapsed in January 2009. There is currently NO known cure or treatment protocol for Jed and he is already considered a miracle child having fought with such determination to get to this point. Sadly in December 2010 Jed relapsed again and his parents are now searching for a treatment plan for him. His chemo costs about R9000 per month and of course he has lots of other expenses, which his mom and dad are faced with daily.

Jed is an only child and his parents adore him, he is the light of their lives and his mother and father said that they would never give up his fight.

Vibe FM DJs' Pro Dive (Faith) & MJ where there to support and what a great day it turned out to be. With a slow start and problems with the sound the park soon filled up when the "PA" kicked in and the acts started to flow. From traditional dancers to hip hop and wrap it was one for all to enjoy. Well done to all that were involved and all the performers for their participation. A very big thank you to Sheila for organising this event...this is one very special lady!

Rob, Bunker Racing - 3rd for the day

Rob Prece in his Volt powered Golf had a miserable start to the weekends racing at Kyalami. After missing all but one practice sessions with oil leaks , an electrical fault and a broken clutch pressure plate. After a long day and night of fixing all the problems(thanks to the steady flow of Volts) the car seemed to be race ready for Saturday. He arrived at qualifying a bit late, he had a sorted car but due to the high numbers of entries (over 50 cars) he had a lot of cars to pass to get a clear track. The troubled weekend did not end there with only 2 warm up laps done, qualifying was red flagged due to a massive oil spillage from a fellow competitor. Result start 32nd on the grid ( Rob not a happy camper !!!). First race went well with some brave overtaking maneuvers, he managed to climb up the grid to 15th overall and 5th in B Class in Silvercup and 4th in B Class in Modified Production Cars. The second race was another ding dong battle and after a few bumps and some very close calls he got up to 10th overall but gear linkage problems two competitors got past. He finished 11th overall and 4th in B Class in Silvercup and 3rd in B Class in Modified Production Cars . These results gave Rob 3rd for the day in class B in Modified Production Cars and 4th in B class in Silvercup. Both Championships run a Index championship as well and Rob managed to win on index in both heats in Modified Production Cars and the second heat in Silvercup due to some really consistent lap times. Rob left Kyalami with some silverware under his arms…a great way to end a troubled weekend. Just proves Volt = faster lap times!!!

ANDRE VAN DER MERWE - ended 4th over all

Started off as a very bad weekend without having practiced on Friday because of the engine packing up. Went straight into qualifying where the turbo packed up. I ended up starting the first heat 9th and finished 5th. The second heat was exiting with heavy rain. Started 5th and made my way up into 2nd behind Gary Formato in the Ford. Was looking good until the last lap where the rain caught me out and I spun of the track rejoining in 5th. Ended up with another 4th overall.

ANDRE VAN DER MERWE - ended close 4th

Sad to say I had some technical problems this race. The 1st heat a turbo pipe burst causing me to lose a lot of power leaving me in 7th. The second heat went a lot better , I was leading for about 4 laps then got passed , I was in comfortable 2nd the entire race until 2 laps from the end where I started running out of fuel causing me to slow down but still ended close 4th.

ANDRE VAN DER MERWE - 4th overall

Andre van der Merwe had a bit of a mixed day at the Zwartskop Race course in Pretoria on Saturday. After qualifying 3rd for the start of the 1st heat, the car had some brake problems and Andre managed to come in fifth in that heat. Starting in 5th for the 2nd heat Andre was once again chasing down the drivers in front of him when the car again suffered from brake failure and he had to nurse the car to the finish coming in 7th. Despite all the brake problems Andre still managed to get 4th overall for the day.

All Bunker Racing Drivers were given complementary Volts before each practice session, qualifying and with each race racking up great results... Bunker Racing  Team in total managing three 1st’s, six 2nd’s and five 3rd’s for the day !!!! another team driver Jonothan Visser loved Volt so much he popped a spare Volt sticker on his car bonnet... don’t miss the insane coverage on TV!!

Apart from the All Stars all other current 1-touch teams were invited to enter, giving them an opportunity to play against other teams from other areas. This made up the 8 other teams that came down on the day to play in the tournament (Die Jong Volk, Konel Elektries, Tri Star Toppies, Amstel Special, Dragon Fly, Southland, Cattledogs and Mana Mayhem).

It was a great day with most teams bringing down their families to enjoy the games and have a nice relaxing Saturday.

World Inflatable Boat Championships 2009

PE played host to the P750 World Inflatable Boat Championships 2009. (We won the bid over the other southern hemisphere contender, Australia.) There were 5 visiting countries that competed: Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, England and Ireland. The guys we sponsored were very grateful for the assistance we provided during the event and are very impressed with the product. They basically lived on Volt during the event and on the last day I gave them another case because they had finished the others the previous day.

Lee Roy Rich Racing Team and Volt Energy Drink

The season opener was supported by 130 entries from around the country and including competitors from Namibia, Zambia and Botswana.

An estimated 3000 spectators where entertained by some of the most spectacular racing from the National quad competitors on a extremely hot sunny day.

All in all a good day considering new season and new machine. The first event is always the toughest with all new teams etc.

A special thanks to our sponsors: Volt Energy Drinks, Fox Racing USA, MXN, Simply Power.

We look forward to the next National Champs scheduled for April.

Grand Prix Track cycling first stage – JHB

The first stage of the track cycling grand prix took place on Saturday the 22nd of November 2008 at JHb Hector Norris Park, and what a day we had. Team Volt was there in force offering the riders, TV crew and spectators free sample tasters of the electrifying Volt Energy Drinks, and the competitors where wizzing around that track like every lap was there last. As is with any Volt promotion or wet tasting the response we got was overwhelming with all that participated stating that Volt was by far the best tasting energy drink they had ever the pleasure of sampling. Needless to say the sales went well and Team Volt went away once again knowing that the product they represent is by far the best available on the SA market, imported and local.
The weather played the game and the rain held off until after the racing was finished allowing the riders and spectators to enjoy the day to its’ full. Well done to all those competitors that raced, thank you to all those that came along to support, and a special thank you to those who got involved with the wet tasting including the Capital Volt Team who really went out of their way to ensure that nobody missed out on sampling Volt Energy Drink.
Supersport broadcast times of this event will be made available here as soon as they are confirmed so be sure to come back and visit the Volt site soon.

Volt In association with “Spark Plug Sunday”

DATE: 12 October 2008
VENUE: VMacs Sports Bar

Big Guns Promotions in conjunction with VMacs Sports Bar and Volt Energy Drink enjoyed a successful first Spark Plug Sunday this past weekend. The weather was hot, the beverages were cold and everyone was looking for shade! Car dealers which included Mitsubishi, Honda, Mercedes, Suzuki, Citroen, Chery,Kia, Dihatsu, Proton and Ssangyong set up their cars and display stands. Visitors were entertained by DJ Colin of Sound Barrier and the band DV8 with good rock music. The children enjoyed the intriguing jumping castle whilst their parents sat back downed ice cold Volt Energy Drinks and enjoyed the music.
Many bikers converged on VMacs Sports Bar after their Sunday morning rides to enjoy the displays, the music and the food on offer – hamburgers, hot dogs, boerie rolls, schwarmas and pancakes. Those with enough energy headed down into the valley for a fun game of paintball.
The charity of the day was SPCA whom we all know are in constant need of funds, food and support from the public by going to the SPCA to look for a new pet for the family. “Biggles”, an even tempered magnificent Great Dane who is the SPCA mascot, was there to receive his fair share of Oohs and Aahs together with his owner “both from Amanzimtoti SPCA. Specially embroidered “Spark Plug Sunday SPCA SOS Run 2008” badges were available at R30 each with the proceeds going to SPCA.
VMacs Sports bar who will be hosting the next Spark Plug Sunday event set for the 23 November is situated behind the Exel Service Station in Goodwood Road, Mahogany Ridge in Pinetown. This second event promises to be even bigger and better than this first. Craig and Nick of Big Guns Promotions and John Mc of VMacs Sports Bar thank everyone who supported this event and the SPCA.

National Motorcycle Trial riding

Well.... this was an event to remember! The riders really had their work cut out for them with the weather taking a turn for the worse and the stages becoming dangerously difficult. As a brand owner and not being too handy on a bike myself it was a real eye opener for me and you will definitely find myself and other members of the Volt team at other trial biking events in the near future. A great debt of gratitude goes out to all the observers who did a fantastic job keeping score and all on a voluntary basis...trial biking in my personal opinion is a great up and coming sport full of great people who are dedicated to a sport that is worthy of so much more coverage and recognition. Volt Energy is proud to have been a part of this event and see ourselves becoming more and more involved in the coming years.
A few words to sum up my first experience of trial biking.....passion, skill, enthusiasm and dedication! The Volt Energy Drinks team salute all trial bikers and supporters out there and thank you for making Volt a part of this absolutely amazing sport. If you know of a trial biking event taking place near you, do yourself a favour and take the entire family as it really is a great day out. For more on when the events are talking place and where, be sure to contact Colin on 084 721 8526.
